Homelander’s Death Should Mirror Game Of Thrones Moment, Says Star mobilecinemanetwork.com, 1 August 2024 The Boys star, Karen Fukuhara, explains why the death of Homelander should be compared to a major Game of Thrones incident. Since season 1, Billy Butcher and the Boys have been working to defeat Homelander, and now that Homelander is in charge of the US government, the stakes in the final season will be higher than ever. The dilemma of how to kill the formidable Homelander and who can pull off the seemingly unachievable achievement still stands. When asked by TV Guide what she would like to see happen to Kimiko, Fukuhara responded by speculating that she might be the one to slay Homelander in a scene that would be similar to Arya Stark killing the Night King in season eight of Game of Thrones. Even though Arya survived, it was surprising that she was the one to defeat the Night King and the Army of the Dead as a whole. While Fukuhara would prefer Kimiko to live, she would also like her death to have a comparable impact. “I want the Arya Stark moment when she defeats the White Walker and nobody expected that. So perhaps maybe Homelander can be taken out by Kimiko. That would be a good death. If I’m going to take him out, I’d be willing to die.” It is painful to think about Kimiko dying, even if it means that Homelander will finally be defeated, considering how likeable she is and everything that she has been through. Regarding whether or not she can kill Homelander, Kimiko’s abilities do offer her the benefit of regenerative healing, which has allowed her to recover from injuries such as a head wound, a broken neck, and a shattered torso. Kimiko has several chances to exact revenge on Homelander, even if he kills her before she can do the same to him. She can recover from these fatal wounds. She also possesses superhuman strength and agility, which are useful abilities. Kimiko appears to be a worthy opponent for Homelander because she has murdered numerous people with her powerful repertoire of abilities. The issue is that Homelander is more powerful than she is and possesses abilities she does not, such flight and heat vision, which let him blast lasers out of his eyes and easily take out opponents. Kimiko is unlikely to be able to kill Homelander, no matter how many times she regenerates or how fast she is. Although the she has superhuman strength, she is still not as strong as Homelander, and it is not encouraging that she was unable to free herself from Sam Riordan in the season 4 finale of The Boys. Arya in Game of Thrones needed a Valyrian steel dagger to kill the Night King, and Kimiko in The Boys season 5 would need an equally unmatched weapon or advantage to murder Homelander.
